Makita BDF452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit

Makita BDF452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit Review

well, the good and the great- its light light LIGHT! compared to all the others on the market, weight is this drills best feature, besides the grip and feel and comfort of it in the palm of your hand, beside the 15min charge on the 1.5amp lithium-ion batteries (includes two), and the strong torque and the L.E.D (you wouldnt think a light would be so well appreciated, but it is). the BDF452HW is just everything youd want or need from an everyday drill @ the house, and the price here on amazon with the free shipping cant be beat.
the ONLY con is, for less than more, you could get yourself the Hammer version of this drill and its only a couple ounces heavier:
Makita BHP452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit with Hammer Mode

but i love it, a week now of constant use; hanging cabinets, light car repair on interior hardware, electrical conduit mounting overhead, cut-hole saw in doors, again, the minimal weight of the tool and the strength of the motor make for easy work with no matter what oddball or standard job you perform with it.

About Makita's 18V Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless Tool Series
As one of the pioneers driving the cordless tool revolution, Makita changed the game with its breakthrough 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Series. Three years after its debut, Makita's LXT Series has grown from seven to over 35 tools, providing a wide range of cordless solutions for professional tradesmen. Makita also added 18V compact lithium-ion for cordless power in a more compact size. Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries and ENERGY STAR rated Optimum Charging System provide several benefits over old battery technology. When compared to traditional 18V Ni-Cd batteries, Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have 40% less weight, longer run time, and five-times lower self-discharge to keep cells active and ready to use at any time.

Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion battery delivers 2,000 cycles--2.5X more than Ni-Cd. In addition, built-in shock absorbing features help protect the battery, and 16 firm-holding contact terminals deliver constant high power. During the charging process, a built-in memory chip in the battery communicates with the Optimum Charger for a more efficient charge, extending the battery life. Makita's Optimum Charger is also faster: it will charge an 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery in just 30 minutes, and an 18V compact lithium-ion battery in only 15 minutes. Makita also offers a Rapid Automotive Charger for 18V LXT and 18V compact lithium-ion batteries that plugs into 12V DC sockets equipped in most automobiles and trucks for added mobility. Makita's growing line of LXT cordless tool solutions features a wide range of industrial-quality power tools, including driver-drills, impact drivers, impact wrenches, saws, grinders, screwguns, rotary hammers, and more. The LXT Series also offers a jobsite radio, rechargeable flashlights, and several different combo kits.

Makita 18-volt compact driver - Debra A. Techlin - Michigan
Bought this drill after my husband read high reviews in Fine Woodworking magazine for it.We are building a cabin in northern Michigan and after a year have had no problems. The battery lasts a surprisingly long time and plenty of power. As a matter of fact I ended up using it so much and liked it so much I wanted my own.My son borrowed it and he liked it so well we bought him one as a house warming gift. We ended up getting the daughter one also to have around her apartment.

Great price - D. Cathey - Wentzville, MO
I actually ordered the model below the 452 but Makita called and told me they were out of that model but they would send me the next model up for the same price. Got it in 3 days. Awesome drill. The batteries hold their charge great. Its heavy but powerfull. This was a reconditioned model and it works great.

Makita Battery drill - William Turner -
I've used Makita tools professionally in my shop for over 20 years and they have proved to good performers and durable. I have an angle drill that is over fifteen years old that's still going and the batteries are still recharging (and are still available). This new drill has a lot of torque in a compact package. Unlike other battery drills that I've had this one has a 1/2 inch chuck capacity.
